Let me show you what current owners have to say about it.

Alfred Sterphone III,

An newcomer’s perspective,

I was looking for a product that I could use to record live concerts and post them to the Live Music Archive for everyone to share. I knew that in the past, DAT recorders were pretty huge. After doing some research, I soon discovered that DAT format is becoming more and more niche. I found out that these digital recorders are the new way to go. I did my research, and the H2 Zoom caught my attention for a few big reasons: the price, the features, the glowing reviews, and the quality built-in mics. I had previously used MiniDiscs, but noticed they were also falling by the wayside. I also didn’t have any high quality mics, so I decided to take the plunge with Zoom’s H2.

I’ve recorded over half a dozen shows with it (and some personal stuff) over the course of a year, and I love this thing. My sample rate of choice is 24-bit/48 kHz. I also use the limiter for concert use and the low mic gain. The recording quality is fantastic. The mics record a great range of sounds picking up the lows and preserving highs. I have not been disappointed with a recording, yet. (Make sure you get a good spot at the venue!)
